NANI SHOULD SCORE: Oh dear, oh dear. What a let off! The winger attacks Clichy, who after initially doing well before giving the ball back to Nani. He bares down on at Szczesny and from ten yards with the goal at his mercy manages to fire over the crossbar

VIDIC CLEARS OFF THE LINE: Arshavin cuts inside onto his right and lets fly very much like he did against Villa a few weeks back. With the ball heading towards the far corner Van der Sar can only parry with his left hand and when Chamakh looked certain to score from a yard the Serbian came from nowhere to block the effort

GREAT SAVE SZCZESNY: Oh how important might that be come the end of the game? Rooney slips in Anderson who tries to dink the ball over the keeper who rushed out of his goal. The Pole stands up well and makes a great block to keep the score at 1-0
