  CHALOBAH CLEARS OFF THE LINE: Afobe makes some space on the left of the area but he seems to slip as he gets his shot away. He can’t really get enough power on the it and, although it beats Blackman, the Chelsea defender gets back to clear from under his crossbar

  TEASING BALL FROM ANEKE: It only needed a touch! The forward gets to the byline on the left and slides the ball right across the face of goal. Unfortunately, there is no-one in a red shirt there to convert

  FIRST REAL SIGN OF McEACHRAN: We have heard a lot about this kid and he nearly showed why is so highly throught of at Stamford Bridge. He shows great skill to get a shot away from just outside the area and his effort goes just wide of the far post

  SO NEARLY 2-0: Great link-up from Rees and Boateng as the defender gets to the byline before cutting the ball across the six-yard box for the waiting Afobe. Just as the striker is about to tap into the empty net, Pappoe comes from nowhere to make a great sliding clearance

  NEAT GIVE AND GO: Aneke and Rees play a decent one-two inside the area and it nearly creates a shooting chance for the latter. But Pappoe comes across to get his body in-front of Rees and clear

  OH MY WORD: Martinez has just pulled of a wonder save from Pappoe. The Chelsea captain rises highest from a corner and his effort is heading into the top-right corner before the ‘keeper somehow manages to get his left hand to the ball. That was incredible, what a save!

  BOATENG WEAVES HIS WAY THROUGH: The defender goes forward and beats three men before hitting a weak shot straight at Blackman from a tight angle

  ARSENAL LOOKING SOLID DEFENSIVELY: The midfield and defence are looking decent at the moment and Chelsea are being forced to play long ball over the top. Arsenal won’t mind that

  GREAT PLAY FROM MEADE: Aneke feeds his team-mate on the left and Meade then leaves two Chelsea defenders for dead. He bursts into the area and, just as he is about to shoot, Kane gets back to make a wonderful sliding tackle

  YENNARIS AND OZYAKUP: That pair are doing really well in the centre of the park in breaking up the play

  IT’S IN THE NET: But the flag had long-since been up and Chelsea’s celebrations are cut short. Clifford is wheeling away at the far post but the goal won’t stand

  OFF THE LINE FROM MIQUEL: What a clearance from the skipper! Clifford is free on the right of the area and he drills the ball low at the far post. Miquel sicks out a leg right under his crossbar to divert the ball over. That was vital

  TACTICS: Arsenal are playing their usual 4-2-3-1 with Ebecilio on the right, Aneke through the middle and Meade on the left. All in support, of course, of Afobe

  THAT HAS TO BE A PENALTY: Surely, how has he not given that?! Afobe races clear before being clipped by the sliding Chalobah who was the last man. I can’t believe the referee hasn’t given that, he is saying the defender touched the ball but I was right behind that and he was nowhere near it!

  MARTINEZ SHOWS GOOD REFLEXES: Lalkovic latches onto a ball over the top and tries to loft an effort over the ‘keeper. But Martinez stands up well and makes a good save high to his right to tip the ball behind

  Ozyakup whips in a corner and it comes last off the head of Clifford before going into the far corner. Hajrovic was claiming that but, make no mistake about it, that is an own goal. But Arsenal won’t care. 1-0!

• The two teams are just being announced and the last few people are quickly getting to their seats, including Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti who is here. No word on whether Arsène is in the building. I will keep you up to date…

• Let me remind you that there must be a result tonight. So that means we could face the dreaded penalties…

• The players have made their way back down the tunnel and kick off is now just ten minutes away

• Stamford Bridge is starting to gradually fill up and, from what I gather, there will around 7,00o fans in here tonight. The lower tiers behind both the goal and the dugouts are being used and you can see scatterings of Arsenal red all over the place.

• So the big news is that Benik Afobe has been passed fit and will start the game for Arsenal. He’s warming up away to my left with the rest of the team and, more big news, the young striker is wearing PINK boots
